This cottage is a delightful property which has been cleverly transformed from a traditional stone cottage to a refreshingly modern and very stylish retreat. The property is in a glorious location in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Fields and sheep encircle the cottage which sits within a 3000 acre estate, truly an extremely tranquil place to spend a few days away from it all. As well as a quiet retreat it is also perfect for small house party groups, and, as part of a large estate, there are plenty of options to add in extra accommodation or larger party/wedding space should you need it.
A traditional cottage this is not. The accommodation inside the house is both unique and visually stunning. Having recently been completely renovated and refurbished the property is now full of surprises and drama. Whitewashed walls throughout team with natural furnishings to create a light neutral backdrop interspersed with flashes of colour from occasional items of furniture. There is a minimalist feel to the decorations keeping everything fresh and uncluttered, but always luxurious.
The house is unusually spacious A bright entrance way, complete with woolley sheep, welcomes guests and leads through to a huge sitting room with high beamed ceiling and lots of French doors leading onto the garden, perfect for parties or just chilling out. The enormous country kitchen offers a central gathering point for guests. The property is let on a self-catered basis but if no-one fancies cooking catering can always be arranged. Everyone can eat together in the lovely dining room and if the weather is nice there is outdoor seating too.
The bedrooms are all minimalist in design with white walls and bed linen, and wall hooks for clothes, some whimsically fashioned as trees. The rooms have high ceilings with wooden beams and afford the most breathtaking views over the surrounding countryside, through feature windows.
Such stunning scenery will have you itching to get out and explore, and wellies and mountain bikes are provided. There are many walks over the moors, much of which is on private land belonging to the estate. Apart from the sheep you are unlikely to meet a soul.
On your return any aching limbs can be soothed in the sauna, or with a massage in the treatment room. In addition there is an outdoor hot tub for guests to use, and a fire-pit with seating. What better way to finish the day than relaxing in the hot tub, with a glass of champagne and those endless views!
