The Cotswolds is always a favourite destination, with its beautiful ancient villages and the idyllic countryside. Many of the hotels here are old favourites that have been on the scene for many decades so it is nice to find somewhere offering something rather different.
The Cotswold House is one such place with a refreshing approach to typical Cotswold styling. Formerly a 17th century farmhouse it has recently undergone a complete multi-million pound re-furbishment, with no expense spared in transforming this charming property into a chic and stylish boutique hotel with 40 bedrooms and a superb new spa.
With Danish owners there is a definite nod to Scandinavian design and the bedrooms in particular have a lovely bright and fresh contemporary look. The main reception rooms by contrast retain the cosy and attractive feel of a Cotswold house but with the addition of stylish furnishings and bold décor, from some of the hottest designers around.
It is a perfect size for an exclusive use event, and is definitely a place to celebrate an occasion. Oozing glamour and style it’s the ideal spot for an exclusive use wedding or a private party, large enough to include all your guests but cosy enough to ensure an intimate celebration.
The food is exceptional, matched with some fine wines. Sitting within what is known as the garden of England, the hotel provides suitably superb cuisine from garden and field by farming and foraging. Using the best seasonal and local produce, dishes comprise delicious country food created with passion and flair.
For total indulgence you can’t beat the superb spa. With facilities such as a candle-lit indoor infinity pool, and a lavender infusion sauna it offers a heavenly experience.
This glamorous property will no doubt become a perennial favourite, we can’t recommend it highly enough.
